Which type of mushrooms are best in this recipe for sauteed mushrooms?
There are lots of varieties of mushrooms available on the market today. And lots of them would be delicious in this recipe for sauteed mushrooms. For the batch of sauteed mushrooms pictured in this blog post, I used Baby Bella mushrooms.
Baby Bella, also known as cremini mushrooms are so hearty! They are the same variety as white button mushrooms but picked when they’re more mature, which results in a more developed flavor.
How to make this recipe for sauteed mushrooms step-by-step.
Prepare the pan.
We start with a combination of Olive Oil and butter in a sauté pan over medium heat.
Slice ’em thick!
Thick-slice the mushrooms and place them in the pan, stirring until browned about 5-8 minutes.
Bring on the flavor!
Once the mushrooms are golden and have released their juices add in the wine, balsamic, and Worcestershire.
Stir to combine and cook until the liquids have reduced down.
Now let’s top these sauteed mushrooms!
Pull the pan of sauteed mushrooms off the heat and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Place the pan under the broiler for a few minutes until the cheese has crisped up and the surface is golden.
Get fresh!
Once the mushrooms have cooked through and the cheese has broiled to perfection it’s time to add a vibrant pop of color and flavor with minced cilantro.
See what I mean? Ooey, gooey cheesy goodness in every single bite.
