Cool Grape Desserts Including Our Grape Shaved Ice

Ready to upgrade your summer dessert game? This Grape Shaved Ice & Vanilla Ice Cream isn’t just a sweet treat—it’s a full-on CA GROWN experience in a bowl. Whether you’re a fan of Hawaiian shave ice, Italian ice, or a classic granita, this refreshing treat gives shaved snow meets farmers market vibes. And the cool grape desserts in this round-up are going to be your new go-to for those so-hot-I-can’t-think kind of days this summer.

Instead of artificial flavored syrups or neon-colored concoctions, we’re letting the best of the Golden State —green California table grapes – shine. Think fresh grapes, Real California vanilla ice cream, California honey, and toasted pistachios. Oh, and did we mention it pairs beautifully with a glass of sparkling wine or a splash of Muscat?

The Secret to This Shaved Ice? Frozen Table Grapes 🍇❄️

Forget your standard snow cone. This isn’t something you pick up at the fair. This shaved ice is naturally sweet, refreshingly crisp, and packed with real fruit flavor—thanks to frozen green California table grapes grated right over your favorite scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Yep, that’s right—grated grapes. All you need is a rotary cheese grater (we used one!), box grater, or Microplane. It takes a little elbow grease, but trust me—it’s worth it. The grape shavings melt ever so slightly over the ice cream, creating this frosty, juicy, almost sorbet-like topping that’s cool and sweet but never overpowering.

And it’s not just delicious—it’s smart. Table grapes are one of California’s top fruit crops, grown in the rich soils of the Central Valley under that signature California sun. With over 99% of the commercially grown table grapes in the U.S. coming from California, it’s safe to say these grapes are local legends.

The Best Way to Beat the Heat 🔥➡️❄️

This shaved ice and ice cream hybrid isn’t just trendy—it’s practical. Because when the temperature climbs and the AC can barely keep up, you need something that cools you down and makes you feel like you’re treating yourself.

Want to make it at home? All you need to do is scoop. Grate. Drizzle. Sprinkle. Devour.

Let’s Talk Tools 🔧

We used a rotary cheese grater for those fine, icy flakes that mimic true shaved snow—but you can use what you have. A handheld cheese grater, a box grater, even a Microplane will do the trick. Just know: the finer the grate, the better the texture. It might take a little longer with a box grater, but hey, think of it as dessert prep and arm day rolled into one.

Why CA GROWN Ingredients Matter 💛

Every bite of this dessert supports California farmers, dairy families, and beekeepers. Seriously, it doesn’t get more farm-to-frozen than this. Here’s why it matters:

  • Table grapes from California – think hand-harvested and packed with phytonutrients that support heart health and hydration.
  • Real California Dairy means you’re supporting a dairy industry and dairy families that lead in sustainable farming practices and animal welfare.
  • Pistachios are naturally cholesterol-free, protein-rich, and one of the lowest-calorie nuts—plus they’re just so good.
  • Honey is nature’s original sweetener. Local honey supports biodiversity and pollination of countless other crops.

Final Scoop? This Is the Best Shaved Ice of the Summer 🍨✨

You don’t need an ice shaver or a fancy machine. You don’t need artificial syrups or plastic cups with paper umbrellas. All you need is a handful of ingredients the grow right here in the Golden State—and a little creativity.

So the next time you’re craving something frosty, fruity, and undeniably California, grab those frozen grapes, grate ‘em up, and let the shaved ice magic happen.
