California Avocado Caprese Salad Recipe

I love caprese salad!

 Who doesn’t really?

Avocado Caprese Salad

How about California AVOCADO Caprese salad? We just kicked it up a notch, didn’t we?

In my world, California avocados make the world a better place. Their ripe goodness can be added to almost any dish, or just simply eaten alone. Avocado’s  nutritional value is superb; they provide us with the good fats that everyone needs. Isn’t is great to eat something that tastes good AND is good for you?

Guacamole has become a traditional American dip served at all types of get-togethers. Even though I LOVE guacamole, I wanted to try something different that would make us think outside the box when using California avocados.

Avocado Caprese Salad

I got kind of fancy with this one, but trust me… it’s simple to achieve.

Ingredients

Avocado Caprese Salad Ingredients: Mozzarella Cheese, Basil, Tomatoes, Avocado

  • California ripe avocados
  • California grape or cherry tomatoes
  • Fresh basil
  • Fresh California mozzarella
  • Salt & pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Balsamic vinegar

RECIPE

Diced Ingredients: Tomatoes, Avocado, Mozzarella Cheese

Dice up the mozzarella, California avocado, and tomatoes into bite sized pieces. Try to keep all ingredients a consistent size.

Combine the ingredients and dust on salt and pepper

Dust some salt and pepper over the ingredients and gently stir to combine.

Halved and pitted avocado

Cut a California avocado in half and remove the pit.

Fill the cavity of the California avocado with the salad and let it overflow onto the top. Sprinkle with thinly sliced basil strips.

Completed Avocado Caprese Salad Drizzled with Balsamic Vinegar

Lightly drizzle olive oil and balsamic over the top and enjoy!

  • Fresh basil
  • Olive oil
  • Balsamic vinegar

Instructions
