Sweet and salty, gooey and crunchy- this easy Baked Cheese recipe is everything you ever wanted in an appetizer. Pairs beautifully with Cabernet Sauvignon or Pinot Noir.

2 7-8 ounce cheese rounds OR 1 large Brie round (We used Cowgirl Creamery Mt. Tam) 1/2 cup California medjool dates about 6, chopped 1/2 cup California walnuts chopped & toasted 10 leaves fresh sage sliced thin 1 TBSP honey add more if needed 1 TBSP balsamic vinegar
Bring the cheese to room temp OR place the cheese on an oven-safe dish and bake at 350 F (170 C) oven for 8 minutes
In a medium bowl, stir the dates, walnuts, sage, honey and balsamic vinegar until well combined
Carefully remove the cheese from the oven and transfer to a serving platter, then top with the date mixture.
Serve immediately with crackers or crostini.
