pitted and halved

heavy whipping cream

sugar

vanilla
Pound
cake or Madeleine cookies
Optional toppings: slivered almonds and shaved chocolate
Instructions
Skewer the cherries and grill on a hot grill for a few minutes per side.
Remove fruit from skewer and set aside.
Whip the cream, sugar and vanilla until peaks form.
Cover the bottom of 4 oz. mason jar with grilled cherries (about 8 halves).
Layer whipped cream, pound cake (or Madeleine cookies), and more cherries. Finish with a dollop of whipped cream.
Top with slivered almonds and shaved chocolate if desired.
